Earlier today Conidia Bioscience released more information about their aviation fuel testing kit which is now available. For those unaware, aviation fuel can be contaminated through several manners, via the supply chain, storage or even through general operation.
What causes this contamination is microbes which are tiny little organisms such as yeasts, fungi and bacteria which often present themselves wherever there is water. Microbial contamination within aviation jet fuel is traditionally measured through a method known in the lab as IP385 and under this method, contamination levels are noted in cfu/ml which simply measures the colony forming within water per litre of fuel, but newer technologies are available such as the aviation fuel testing kit that Conidia Bioscience provides.
