How to Release a Project for Construction Company

By: PRLog

These days more and more businesses consider digital transformation. And while some company owners still scrupulously examine all pros and cons of custom software development, others took a decisive step and built a real digital helper.

NEW YORK - March 30, 2021 - PRLog -- To begin with, we'd like to describe the key challenges our client from Nelson Precast faced. This company produces architectural cast stones and offers constructions repairing services. So the employees are responsible for numerous operations. Although they keep all processes and documentation under control, they have such productivity issues:

  • Huge influx of tasks;
  • Ineffective and inaccurate estimation;
  • Too complex scheduling and progress tracking.

The challenges were impossible to deal with without reliable software. Before the company owner decided to initiate software development with the GBKSOFT team, he tried out numerous solutions that failed to meet the company requirements. That struggle continued for 10 years.

Our cooperation began with discussion of all expectations, goals and plans. We examined all documentation provided by the client and delved into his business specifics. Once the pre-development preparation was finished, and specifications were written, we finally began building a custom system for construction management. It was named LEO, and it turned out to be very feature-rich and user-friendly.

We've incorporated many features into LEO, here are the most interesting and useful ones:
  • Barcodes scanning - this is a must-have for every construction company as it lets you quickly add and find information about construction materials, pieces, etc.
  • PDF editor of drawings - the users of LEO can not only upload the drawings of specific pieces, they can also edit those drawings right in the software, which is very time saving.
  • Job management - employees are able to assign jobs, check their progress, filter or edit some statuses. The section for job creation and management is very intuitive.
  • Mold lists - while some construction pieces should be only custom made, others can be reused. We added a feature for fast molds selection where users find all necessary information about molds like their shape, length, etc.
  • QA checklists - quality assurance means a lot because construction materials are expensive and before providing clients with them you need to make sure that everything is well made. QA checklists added to LEO let the employees complete the checking easily.

LEO construction management system was a serious project that required many technological skills and huge development experience. Our software engineers and designers did a great job. They wrote high-quality code and wrapped it in stylish and trendy dark-colored design.

The client could not be happier to integrate LEO and finally start using it! Business management tools indeed can boost your productivity.
