Odawa Casino Resort Boosts Efficiency and Guest Service With Comprehensive Agilysys Suite

Agilysys, Inc. (Nasdaq: AGYS), a leading global provider of next-generation hospitality software solutions and services, today announced that Odawa Casino Resort in Petoskey, Mich., has selected an industry-leading solution suite — including Visual One® PMS, InfoGenesis® POS and rGuest® Pay — to streamline efficiency and optimize guest service at the 137-room property.

The resort, which recently underwent extensive renovations, caters to both business and leisure travelers, with a Las Vegas style casino, several dining options, live entertainment venue and large meeting facility. The property’s executive team wanted state-of-the-art technology that not only would increase operational efficiency but also would enhance the guest experience.

“The Agilysys suite is a great fit for us, with software that addresses the entire guest lifecycle, including property management, point-of-sale and payment gateway solutions,” said Eric McLester, general manager at Odawa Casino Resort. “Visual One PMS will streamline our hotel operations from arrival through departure, while InfoGenesis POS and rGuest Pay will boost food, beverage and retail efficiency and reduce the risks associated with card acceptance. Agilysys has been a trusted adviser to tribal gaming properties for many years, and we look forward to a long and successful partnership.”

Odawa Casino Resort is implementing the following Agilysys solutions:

  • Visual One PMS — a comprehensive and fully integrated property management system that offers a wide range of best-in-class features and functionality, including front office operations, guest history, housekeeping, reservations management and more. Its user-friendly screens are laid out in a logical format, with quick-feature icons and drill-down capabilities. The system offers optional modules for accounting, activities, club management, comp accounting, condo accounting, guest marketing, sales and catering, and spa management. Other features include a rate and availability calculator, enhanced guest stay search screens and an online shopping cart.
  • InfoGenesis POS ─ a comprehensive point-of-sale system that combines an easy-to-use terminal and tablet touchscreen application with industry-leading offline capabilities. Designed for multi-unit and complex operations, InfoGenesis POS features real-time reporting, support for packages and prix fixe menus, and multi-language capabilities that drive service flexibility and increase operational efficiency. The system easily manages any combination of food, beverage and retail services, and integrates with other Agilysys next-generation solutions and a wide variety of third-party providers.
  • rGuest Pay — the Agilysys payment gateway solution that enables complete and secure payment processing. It leverages one of the only payment offerings that includes: validated Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE), which reduces the potential for malicious hacking and fraud; a Payment Information Proxy (PIP) that secures data arriving via e-commerce interfaces; robust tokenization, which eliminates storage of cardholder data; and a full range of fixed and mobile EMV-ready payment devices that ensure compliance with new card security regulations. In addition, rGuest Pay integrates with any PMS or POS product and offers fixed and predictable costs with flat monthly rates and no volume tiers.

“Casino hotels that want to beat the competition must leverage technology to improve overall property performance," said Jim Walker, senior vice president of global revenue at Agilysys. "With the implementation of our property management, point-of-sale and payment gateway solutions, Odawa Casino Resort is making a commitment to both efficiency and guest service. Each of these solutions is powerful on its own; together, they provide an unbeatable combination that not only will streamline day-to-day operations but also will help the property establish lasting connections with guests."

Odawa Casino Resort, located in Northern Michigan, is one of the state’s premier visitor destinations. The $140 million property includes 137 guest rooms, 10 luxury suites, three restaurants, two bars, gift shop, nightclub and a 50,000 square-foot casino. In addition, the resort features a large entertainment venue and nearly 20,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Odawa Casino Resort is owned and operated by the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians.
