Why did an intelligent, strong, and experienced young man die in the wilderness? What happened? The family led search to find Jon's remains and bring him home took us over a year.

David Francis is a former nuclear submarine officer and retired U.S. Navy Captain with over 30 years of naval service. His business experience includes several years with 3M and IBM and sales, marketing and management at five high technology startup companies in Minnesota.

David and his wife Linda, through their foundation, organize searches for lost and missing people all over the country. This is a non-profit foundation.

They have taken their family tragedy and have become literal Life Savers and and helping families find closure who are experiencing similar situations.

Jon Francis was smart, young and strong. He was a gifted and ultra-fit athlete. A long distance runner who earned all state, all American and High School National Champion Honors. Jon was an experienced wilderness camper, hiker and mountain climber.

Raised in Minnesota, Jon moved out west to Utah and Idaho where he served as a youth minister and a bible camp counselor. And he continued and deepened his love affair with nature - God's creation.
