Metronet Launches Multi-Gigabit Speeds Up to 10 Gigabits in Tallahassee

Marks First Community in Sunshine State to Access Metronet’s Multi-Gigabit Speeds

Metronet today announced that residents and businesses in Tallahassee are the first in the state to have access to their upgraded, multi-gigabit service. In addition to Metronet’s current offerings of 1 gigabit per second, speeds up to 2 gigabits are now available for residents; businesses may choose speeds of up to 10 gigabits. All Metronet speeds are symmetrical, which is vital for high quality video conferencing, gaming and online learning.

The updates to multi-gigabit speeds were made with no disruption to the current Tallahassee infrastructure. Those interested in upgrading to Metronet’s multi-gigabit speeds may call Customer Care at 1-855-977-4609.

“Metronet is proud to officially deploy access to multi-gigabit speeds throughout Tallahassee,” said Bill Gilliam, Metronet’s Florida General Manager. “Multi-gigabit speeds are a game changer for the communities we serve while providing residents and businesses with service that will continue to support the continued growth and economic development of Tallahassee for years to come. Coupled with our exceptional customer service, our multi-gigabit symmetrical speeds will provide this community with an internet experience that they can rely on.”

Residents and businesses throughout Tallahassee have access to the fastest symmetrical speeds available. According to data from Ookla® Speedtest Intelligence®, Metronet is raked the “Fastest Internet Service Provider in Tallahassee.” In the coming months, other communities throughout Metronet’s 16-state service area will join Tallahassee with access to multi-gigabit speeds.
