We disclose that at the Regular Meeting of the Board of Directors of Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company held today, the Board of Directors approved the acquisition by its wholly-owned subsidiary, ePLDT, Inc. (ePLDT), of an additional 8,037,692,308 shares of Philweb Corporation (PhilWeb) at a price of PhP.026 centavos per share or an aggregate amount of PhP208,980,000. This represents an additional 6.2% of the outstanding shares of PhilWeb, raising ePLDT’s total stake to 25.5%.
