Tech stocks get boost from eBay, EMC, Amazon

Technology stocks showed some muscle in early trading Thursday, with gains from EMC Corp., eBay Inc. and VMware Inc. leading the advance, and with earnings reports on tap from Microsoft Corp. and Amazon.com Inc.
