LinkOptimizer for InDesign Now Converts 16-bit TIFF to JPEG Automatically

By: Get News
Zevrix Solutions announces LinkOptimizer 6.1.16, a feature update to company's image workflow automation plug-in for Adobe InDesign. LinkOptimizer solves the hassle of manual image processing and relinking by reducing InDesign links size automatically as well as converting image formats, applying color profiles, and fine-tuning other properties. The new version automatically converts 16-bit TIFF and PSD images to JPEG and PNG without triggering the Save As dialog in Photoshop.

Toronto, ON, Canada - February 20, 2023 - Zevrix Solutions today announces the release of LinkOptimizer 6.1.16, a feature update to company's image workflow automation solution for Adobe InDesign. LinkOptimizer solves the problem of complex image manipulation tasks by automation of manual processing that involves precise link replacement in InDesign after image editing in Photoshop.

The new update solves the issue of converting 16-bit images to certain formats that cannot handle direct resaving of such documents in Photoshop. For example, an attempt to convert a 16-bit TIFF to JPEG normally triggers a Save As dialog in Photoshop, which interrupts the processing. With the new version, LinkOptimizer now first changes 16-bit images to 8-bit files, which ensures further uninterrupted conversion to any format.

"Today LinkOptimizer batched a huge book project and another magazine project in minutes vs. hours. Now I can take the afternoon off and drink beer," says Brian Donahue, owner of Bedesign studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota. "Thanks for freeing up my afternoon, rather than doing production work."

LinkOptimizer works automatically with Photoshop to eliminate the excess image data of InDesign links, convert image formats, and perform essential image adjustments such as color conversion and sharpening. For example, with just a click of a button users can:

-Process multiple InDesign files automatically

-Change their resolution to 300 dpi

-Scale and crop images to match their dimensions in InDesign

-Resave JPEG files as PSD

-Convert RGB images to a CMYK profile

-Run a Photoshop action on each image.

As a result users can save gigabytes of disk space and countless hours of optimizing images manually, accelerate document output, reduce job turnaround and cut costs through faster processing.

Pricing and Availability:

LinkOptimizer can be purchased from Zevrix website for US$259.95 (Lite version: $179.95) as well as from Adobe Exchange and authorized resellers. Trial is also available for download. The update is free for LinkOptimizer 6.x users and $130 to upgrade from previous versions. LinkOptimizer requires macOS 10.12-13.x and Adobe InDesign / Photoshop CS6-2023.
