Arkearth and BatBnB Partner for Exclusive Bat House Projects to Increase Bat Populations, Pollination, and Offer Sustainable Pest Control

By: PRLog

Plano, Texas-based Arkearth, a 501(c)3 for saving bees and other pollinators, has selected BatBnB as an exclusive provider of unique, sustainable bat houses for its Pollination Accelerator projects in North Texas and beyond. Each project will include one to three bat habitats along with other environmental features.

PLANO, Texas - Oct. 24, 2022 - PRLog -- Arkearth, a nonprofit with a mission to save bees and other pollinators, has formed a partnership with BatBnB to deploy bat houses to Arkearth's Pollination Accelerator projects. The exclusive agreement provides Arkearth's environmental projects with the highest quality and specifically designed habitats for bats.

Arkearth launched in 2021 as a solution to save bees and help increase food crop success in community gardens and food deserts in at-risk neighborhoods where access to fresh healthy food resources are limited. BatBnB's bat houses enable Arkearth to evolve from saving bees and butterflies, into also saving, bats. Individual donations and a percentage of proceeds from Hivessence will help fund the mission.

Hivessence, an organic, honey-infused self care brand, contributes monthly to Arkearth. Both organizations work together for environmental improvement for a circular economy solution, with Arkearth providing Hivessence with organic, raw honey and beehive products for its skincare, soaps, and other health and wellness products.

"We're thrilled to work with BatBnB on this long-term project. Their designs are perfect for installing into our projects with community gardens, urban farms, and corporate settings. These efforts will help save various endangered bat species, and help sustainably and safely control insect populations naturally," said David Burrows, co-founder of Hivessence and Arkearth.org.

Burrows discovered BatBnB on a previously aired episode of ABC's "Shark Tank". "Before the show even ended, I was writing an email to them in hopes of seeing how we could collaborate. After discussing some ideas, we agreed on several initiatives and now, we're delighted to make our announcement during BatWeek 2022," Burrows added.

"BatBnB is very excited to be working with Arkearth on their 'pollination accelerator' projects. Partnering with an organization who is also focused on vital wildlife, we will work together raising awareness for, education around, providing habitat for, and the protection of bats," said Jessica Woodend, Head of Community Engagement and Partnerships for BatBnB.

Part of Arkearth's education on pollination starts with the fact that one in every three bites of food in our diets can be directly attributed to the pollination activities of bees, butterflies, bats, hummingbirds and other species. Bats alone not only help pollinate but can consumer over 1,000 insects a night, particularly mosquitos, making them the safest and most effective, natural controller of insect populations.
