Texas born actress, model, author, and now businesswoman is taking on the world with her Jay’s Paws luxury Brand. Jay Fresh, from Houston, TX who is also a model in both fashion and foot modeling has shown if you have the will, courage, and determination, you can achieve anything in life.
Actress and model Jay Fresh launched Jay’s Paws in 2021 and since its launch it has gone from strength to strength. The foot care brand which has gained huge exposure has become a big hit with customers. Jay’s Paws features a range of products including luxury scrubs, lotions, and sprays, all designed to help individual feel their best.
Thanks to the quality of the brand and the success of the products, the Jay’s Paws luxury footwear brand is available through a number by major online stores including Wal-Mart and Amazon. Products such as Jay’s Paws’ Exfoliating Sugar Scrub, Goddess Glow, and Paw Pudding allow users to treat their feet, which are oftentimes the most overlooked and underappreciated part of the body.
We decided to sit down with Jay Fresh to find out more about the woman behind the exciting brand, this is what she had to say.
You are an Actress, Published Author, Entrepreneur, and Fashion/Foot Model, if you had one profession to be known by, what would it be and why?
It would be acting. Acting has always been a passion of mine from a very young age. I was always in a school play, I even won best actress in my school district at one point and I think that was the turning point for me when I realized THIS is what I want to do. I’ve done some acting work in my adult life, nothing major but I do plan to pursue it more seriously in the future.
How did you get into acting?
I’ve always been very “animated” and I’ve always enjoyed being different personalities. It’s horrible to say but I remember hearing about a school play audition in middle school and the other kids were saying that if you landed a role you’d get to get out of class early and go to practice. I was not passing up that opportunity. I went to the audition last minute and I’m reading my friends script going down the hallway trying to memorize as much as I could before it was my turn to audition. I landed the lead role. That was the beginning.
You are the C.E.O of Jay’s Paws, can you explain what is Jay’s Paws?
Jay’s Paws is my one stop foot self-care brand. We offer everything from Sugar Scrubs to our Hydrating cream, “Paw Pudding”, as well as toe rings and anklets. We are currently on all major online stores like Amazon and Walmart to name a few.
You say your products will focus on making feet just as glamorous as the person, can you explain what you mean by that?
Feet tend to get overlooked and I want you to be able to have the whole package ya’ know? Don’t just do your hair and put on something cute and then shove your feet into some shoes without even putting on lotion. I want to give people feet they can be proud of and don’t have to be ashamed of. Your feet take care of you and in some cases are the most overworked part of your entire body. It’s important to give them the proper care they need.
What sort of products do you sell and who are your ideal customers?
Jay’s Paws currently offers, Exfoliating Sugar Scrub, Jay’s Paws Goddess Glow, Paw Pudding, which is our organic shea butter moisturizer, pure jojoba cuticle oil, anklets, toe rings and many more accessories. My ideal customers are pretty much everyone. If you have nice feet or feet that need a little work, we welcome you to try our products. Jay’s Paws products are gentle enough for all skin types.
You have done foot modelling; is this is how you found there was a gap in the market for Jay’s Paws?
Yes. Since I’ve started foot modeling I’ve constantly been asked “How do you get your feet to look so soft?” I was using my own products at that time and I realized that there aren’t many companies that focus on just feet. I knew my products were great as they worked for my very sensitive skin and I knew that this could be something that people would take an interest in.
Do you believe women take less notice of their feet compared to the rest of their body when they are getting ready to go out?
I would have to say yes. I think some women tend to focus their excitement on the new pair of heels they may be wearing rather than the feet in the shoe. And I have noticed it with guys too because they typically wear closed shoes and figure “nobodies going to see them” so they skip grooming and hydrating them.
Are you hoping to expand your brand to the worldwide market?
Yes, Jay’s Paw is currently available in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. In the next few months we are launching in the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Italy, Spain, Australia and lots more places so stay tuned!
Going from an Actress into a successful businesswoman is a big step to make, how and when did you decide that you would like to stretch your talents in the business world?
I’ve always wanted to own a business I just wasn’t sure what that business would be. A few years ago I took a step out on faith and here we are. It’s not easy but there isn’t a day that I regret going after my goals.
There are not a lot of successful female business women out there, would you like to see that changed, and why do you believe women are less likely to start a business than men?
Of course I would like to see that changed. The opportunities are constantly changing for more woman to start businesses and become entrepreneurs. I think that there are many successful businesswomen out there, lots whom I look up to and more and more women are starting businesses every day.There are 114% more female entrepreneurs in the US today than 20 years ago and there are currently 12.3 million known women-owned businesses in the US. It’s a different day, woman owning businesses are on the rise and I’m here for it.
You have achieved so much, so what is next for you?
Expansion. Growing my business to be a global brand, continuing my acting, and writing more books. Going bigger is always the goal. I always strive to be better than yesterdays me.
