Interoperability of blockchain and physical assets article for Procurement teams

Hitchin,United Kingdom - July 26, 2022 /PressCable/

Tracbison has published a new article entitled ‘Upcoming OriginTrail DKG 6 to create a decentralized, verifiable protocol linking physical and digital assets on the Blockchain using Web 3.0’, which sheds light on the most important aspects of Origin Trail’s Version 6 updates and what it brings to traceability in supply chain management for Global Logistic teams. Logistic and Procurement departments dealing with International Supply Chains and other interested individuals can view the full article at https://tracbison.com/upcoming-origintrail-dkg-6-to-create-a-decentralized-verifiable-protocol-linking-physical-and-digital-assets-on-the-blockchain-using-web-3-0/

The article includes several interesting pieces of information, one in particular, is that the v6 update introduces Uniform Asset Locators (UALs). The use of which creates a fully decentralized, verifiable protocol for the discovery of assets indexed in the Decentralized Knowledge Graph. This should be of particular interest to International Logistic teams because this featured heavily in a project from 2021 where an NGO; Aid Trust, built a successful pharmaceutical asset tracking solution on OriginTrail in collaboration with the British Standards Institution.

One of the most important pieces of information the article tries to convey and communicate is the new planned updates fully support industry standards such as; the new GS1 EPCIS 2.0 and Digital Link, W3C DIDs and Verifiable Credentials for both digital and physical assets. Something that Government bodies such as those in the United Kingdom will find comforting in a post-Brexit world. The best example of this is perhaps found in the following extract:

‘Previous versions of OriginTrail (up to including v5) have made it possible for all groups of users (enterprises, government sectors etc.) to connect and verify information thanks to the semantic and linked data technology intertwined with the multi-chain blockchain layer. The v6 now magnifies both the scale and the scope of capabilities given to DKG users ‘
