Since 1996 they have been providing gold trading via the internet to customers around the country. They aim to get customers by providing competitive prices. They sell both gold and silver regularly but they are also a certified seller of diamonds, palladium and platinum. The goal is to provide a full service approach so that customers don’t have to venture to another seller for their precious metal and jewel needs.

Founded in 1991, AJPM has branched out to having three physical offices in Portland. They have a small blog with some helpful information on precious metals and investments. They also offer a trading chart at the top of most web pages so you can see the status of the 4 major precious metals on the market.

About The Founders of AJPM

AJPM was founded in 1991 by Rodney Scott and Vicki Scott. Before the pair founded the company, they had opened four precious metals businesses in Portland’s metro area as well as Washington and Vancouver. They also had another venture, the Portland Mining Company and Medallion Specialties Inc., which they founded in 1986.

This firm was the first firm in the US to be licensed by the NBA to create star player medallions, including Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson. Other medallions they made included the Oregon Trail, US Military, The Rose Festival and many more. By 1991, Rodney and Vicki Scott consolidated all their jewelry and precious metals operations into one organization, which is today known as AJPM. The two currently assist in the firm’s management at the downtown Portland office.

AJPM is not officially affiliated with any IRA custodians or gold IRA –related services. The company functions solely as a jewelry and precious metals provider.

How the Company Works

The operational model at AJPM is quite simple. Investors can place orders through the company website at www.ajpm.com. To place a buy or sell order, you first call a toll free number provided at the website. You tell a company representative the amount and type of coins you are interested in.

Your name, phone number, and address are required in order to complete your order. The prices are locked in and will be confirmed when you receive a confirmation number. You will place this confirmation number on your check’s memo line.

You enter a legally binding contract once you have placed an order and received a confirmation number. You cannot make changes or cancellations once you have received a confirmation number. AJPM accepts payment in the form of cashier checks, personal checks, and Money orders. They also accept wire transfers for any order above $15,000.

All checks have to be made payable to the shop that you are ordering from. The shop addresses are provided on the company website. Orders can take up to 26 business days, but most of them ship on the same week that you make payments. It is worth noting that AJPM has no minimum order other than one coin, there is no sales tax, and all payments have to be postmarked within 24 hours of confirmation.

The Affordable Jewelry & Precious Metals Website

AJPM’s website is definitely not the best-looking website out there and seems rather outdated. However, the website is simple and very easy to navigate. There are no advertisement banners or pop-ups.

The website features a menu with the products and services AJPM offers as well as the toll-free number for the various storefronts. At the top of the web pages is a trading chart that details the current bidding and asking prices of the main precious metals (gold, silver, platinum, and palladium) on the market. The Jewelry, the company, deals in is not cataloged on the website.
