In honor of Black History Month, Winn Claybaugh's MASTERS Podcast takes a different perspective as Winn interviews braid specialist Kamilah ("Ms. Hair and Humor") and beauty industry leader and school owner NeCole Cumberlander

SANDY, Utah - Feb. 5, 2021 - PRLog -- In honor of Black History Month, this special-edition podcast takes a different perspective as Winn Claybaugh interviews natural hairstylist, educator, and braid specialist Kamilah (also known as Ms. Hair and Humor), and professional beauty industry leader and beauty school owner NeCole Cumberlander.

NeCole and Kamilah provide in-depth details about the history of Black hairstyling and the CROWN Act, a campaign to end hair discrimination nationwide. (Did you know that discrimination is still legal in 43 states?) Kamilah and NeCole's conversation about what Black women have endured for decades by trying to "fit the standard," as well as the natural hair movement, is educational and profoundly enlightening.

Recognized for her big hair and big laughs, Ms. Hair and Humor helped popularize knotless braids. Her message of pain-free braiding attracted a celebrity clientele and numerous media opportunities, including appearances on Good Morning America and interviews in Self, BeLatina, Zoe Report, Glamour, and Doré. She was the sole braider for Madonna's 2019 Madame X Tour and part of the braiding team that created hair pieces for Beyoncé's Black Is King film project.

NeCole Cumberlander has achieved a plethora of awards and accomplishments during her 30 years in the beauty industry. She was a national educator for John Paul Mitchell Systems before becoming a salon owner, school owner, active member and past president of the Professional Beauty Association (PBA), and current president of the Paul Mitchell School Franchise Association.

In a far-reaching conversation that tackles topics that often go unaddressed, Kamilah and NeCole share personal stories about fitting in, race-based hair discrimination, their goals and dreams for equity in and out of the beauty industry, and more on February's MASTERS by Winn Claybaugh podcast.
