Newly reinstated Independence Health Department extends closing time for city's bars, restaurants

The Independence Health Department's first order was to extend hours for serving food and drink until midnight. That will allow staff to work longer hours, something Independence Mayor Eileen Weir said is crucial because of a bigger threat right now than Covid-19: poverty.
