Canadian Fertility Consulting Congratulates International Intended Fathers on the Birth of Their Baby Boy

Family is Back Home in Belgium and Provide Details of Their Surrogacy Experience

TORONTO - June 18, 2019 - (Newswire.com)

For many intended parents, the costs associated with surrogacy is their number one obstacle standing in the way of them achieving their dreams of having a family. International intended fathers from Belgium, Steven Berson and Oren Cohen, both knew from an early age that they wanted to be parents one day, and they were given the chance through a fully funded journey that was partially covered by Canadian Fertility Consulting

Both Steven and Oren are involved in the surrogacy community abroad, which introduced them to the organization, Men Having Babies and their Gay Parenting Assistance Program. They were accepted into their second tier of assistance, which helps match couples or individuals who have been elected by their grant committee to receive free alternative reproductive services, including IVF, surrogacy, egg donation and legal services. In 2016, Steven and Oren completed their application and they are the first couple in Belgium to have been accepted into Stage II of GPAP’s Direct Assistance program.

After receiving approval for funding, they reached out to Egg Helpers to select an egg donor and create their embryos, followed by turning to Canadian Fertility Consulting to assist them through their surrogacy journey. Their baby boy, Jayden, was born healthy and happy on March 21, 2019. When asked about their surrogacy experience in Canada in a recent interview, they had this to say: “The health services in Canada are amazing, and we felt completely taken care of every step of the way. After Jayden was born, we had nurses calling to make sure everything was OK, to come in for check-ups; we were taken care of so well and everything was so convenient. The whole journey was a very positive experience for us, and we cannot think of one negative thing to say, and if we were to do a sibling journey, we would definitely do it again in Canada.”

Steven and Oren’s surrogate, Shanna, had the opportunity to fly to Israel, on behalf of Canadian Fertility Consulting and the CReATe Fertility Centre, to attend a surrogacy conference and meet Oren’s family. Throughout their journey together, the three shared a very close bond that now extends beyond the birth of their son: “For us, our surrogacy experience was so much more than just having the baby; it was also about having a great relationship with our surrogate. We feel blessed for having such a beautiful and healthy child, and super lucky that our surrogate had a good pregnancy and delivery without any health-related issues. Our bond with her is so much than her simply being our surrogate, and we thank CFC for matching us with this truly incredible person.”

Out of all of Canadian Fertility Consulting's ongoing and pending surrogacy journeys, 75% are from international intended parents. CFC always recommends international intended parents have insurance coverage to ensure both their health and the health of their child is covered upon delivery. The company prides itself in offering its services to intended parents from both Canada and abroad and will help connect its clients to external sources of funding if necessary.
