Glidewell Dental Market-Leading BruxZir® Solid Zirconia and CAMouflage™ NOW Ceramic Polymer Recognized as Best in Class

Latest Update from the Independent Gordon J. Christensen Clinicians Report® Demonstrates Glidewell's Emphasis on Quality and Innovation

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - November 13, 2018 - (Newswire.com)

Glidewell Dental, an industry-leading provider of dental laboratory services, biomaterials, integrated chairside milling technology and clinical education, has announced that two of its materials, including the company’s flagship material BruxZir® Solid Zirconia and the breakthrough ceramic-filled nanohybrid resin composite CAMouflage NOW, have demonstrated exceptional performance in independent clinical studies conducted by TRAC Research and published in the November 2018 issue of Gordon J. Christensen Clinicians Report®.

BruxZir Solid Zirconia is the only full-contour zirconia material that has surpassed 8 years of clinical study by TRAC Research. In that timespan, BruxZir Solid Zirconia exhibited zero terminal fractures and 100 percent survivability.

Furthermore, BruxZir zirconia was found to best meet the foundation’s seven most sought-after characteristics for restorative materials of the over 200 materials studied in the foundation’s 42-year history. The sought-after characteristics include tooth coloration, reasonable cost, minimal preparation requirements, lasting and easy cementation, tolerance to wear, kindness to opposing dentition and trouble-free service of at least 10 years.

“Nearly 10 years and more than 16 million BruxZir restorations later, this new report from TRAC Research and the independent Clinicians Report confirms that BruxZir restorations have exceeded every hope and expectation for success,” said Jim Glidewell, CDT, President and CEO of Glidewell Dental.

In the same Clinicians Report issue, Glidewell Dental’s new material CAMouflage NOW was also recognized as a leading performer in its category of in-office CAD/CAM ceramic polymer materials. The report states, “All the ceramic polymer products in this study except CAMouflage NOW had high cementation failure at 1 year of clinical service, and the numbers increased over time.” In fact, the study reported that CAMouflage NOW demonstrated just 2 percent cementation failure compared to the 14–29 percent failure demonstrated by all other ceramic polymer materials after 1 year of clinical service.

“We designed CAMouflage NOW in response to the reported failures of similar chairside materials,” said Jim Glidewell. “We are pleased that the independent study of available materials shows CAMouflage NOW can be a dependable in-office-milled solution for full-coverage crowns, inlays and onlays.”
