Hollywood Star Walton Goggins Partners with Top Tech CEOs to Launch Villiger to Make Parenting Easier in the Digital Age

Mobile app connects parents with trusted friends to find and book recommended support, from local tutors to sitters to coaches and more.

LOS ANGELES, CA, December 14, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Celebrity dad Walton Goggins has flown over 200,000 miles in the last year filming scenes for Marvel's upcoming Ant-Man and The Wasp as well as the new Tomb Raider movie, both due in 2018. The challenge to find trusted, reliable support for his six-year-old son was nearly impossible. He found himself constantly texting and calling friends to get recommendations on sitters, tutors, and music teachers, as he figured everyone else must have at some point faced the same need. When he ran out of available options, he turned to other sites and Google searches that returned numerous strangers and countless unvetted people to consider -- and he thought, "there has got to be a better way."

For Goggins and his wife, filmmaker Nadia Conners, a recommendation via a trusted friend was critical when it came to their son, but there wasn't anything that solved their problem - so he and Conners reached out to tech-savvy friends including Nir Zohar, president of Wix (NASDAQ: WIX), Mark Tluszcz, founding partner of venture capital firm Mangrove Capital (an early investor in Skype) and Stephen Stokols, CEO and co-founder of FreedomPop. Having collectively shared the same pain as parents of young children, they funded Villiger, an app that makes it easy for like-minded parents to connect, find and book recommended and trusted support for child raising.

"My grandmother brought me up and would always tell me it takes a village to raise a child. Now, I know what she meant and I am hoping that Villiger will give every parent the village they need to make parenting easier," said Walton Goggins, co-founder, Villiger. "Whether I'm traveling to film scenes in different cities and need support, or if I'm at home and trying to arrange a sitter for a spontaneous date night with Nadia, I can simply launch Villiger and my extended community is there, ready to recommend and book. No more texting 50 friends during their work hour or dinner time in my frantic search for help."

How it works
Download the app and upload your friends to your Village via Facebook Connect or your address book.
You can view and leverage your friends' trusted resources (like sitters, tutors, private coaches, music teachers, housekeepers, etc) and share yours.
You can contact, book, or add a supporter to your Village from their profile.
Additionally, you can easily discover new, vetted supporters in your area and add those (by swiping left or right a la Tinder) to your Supporters.
Supporters will bid on your request and you can confirm and book them in seconds. Best of all all, payment is taken within the app so there is no cash exchange necessary.
There are also in-app features to do a voice or video call and also to send a message to contact any of these supporters.

Villiger launches its public beta today as a mobile app for iOS and Android, allowing parents to share sitters, set playdates, find the right baseball coach, piano teacher and more. The platform allows parents to share their support network within a "Trusted Village," then receive recommendations, advice, requests and contacts within the Village. The platform provides direct booking and payment for a variety of support providers including sitters, tutors, music teachers, housekeepers, coaches, and more.
