The Cask & Barrel Chooses Agilysys Suite to Manage New Restaurant

Agilysys, Inc. (Nasdaq:AGYS), a leading provider of innovative hospitality software solutions and services, today announced that The Cask & Barrel, a new American tapas-style restaurant and bar in Columbus, Ohio, has selected a comprehensive software solution suite to streamline operations and enhance guest service. The restaurant, which is scheduled to open in January, will use Agilysys hosted solutions for mobile point-of-sale, inventory and procurement and workforce management.

"We evaluated a number of technology vendors and found that Agilysys offered the total restaurant management package we were looking for," said Spenser Hanson, co-owner of The Cask & Barrel. "The company's point-of-sale, procurement and workforce management systems provided the features, functionality and customization we wanted, and SaaS delivery is particularly well suited to our business model. We also found Agilysys to be a partner we could trust to help us select the right software for our unique business challenges. We look forward to working with them as we open our new restaurant and are excited about the opportunities the technology will give us to build our business and deliver exceptional guest service."

The Cask & Barrel has implemented several Agilysys solutions, including:

  • InfoGenesis™ Flex, the Agilysys mobility solution that offers full point-of-sale functionality delivered on industry-leading Dell® Venue Pro™ tablets. Built around the award-winning InfoGenesis POS system, InfoGenesis Flex offers a feature-rich mobile experience for foodservice operations and gives users exceptional flexibility and reliability. The solution is designed to keep revenue flowing, even in the most demanding high-volume environments. And, with powerful offline capabilities, Flex tablets provide uninterrupted performance, even when Wi-Fi connectivity is inconsistent. Managers also have complete access to all InfoGenesis tools, even while on the floor, so they can oversee operations on-the-go.
  • Eatec®, a Microsoft® Windows®-based full-featured inventory, procurement and production system designed specifically for the hospitality and foodservice industries. Along with its core purchasing, inventory, recipe, forecasting, production and sales analysis functions, the software also offers modules for catering, cycle planning, retail management, nutrition and allergens. The modular structure allows customers to construct the exact set of features they need — whether it is an enterprise-wide solution for multiple sites or a single-site system for multiple functions.
  • Workforce Management System™ (WMx™), an innovative and feature-rich suite of workforce management tools that help hospitality professionals streamline efficiency through precision staff scheduling and management. The software improves employee productivity with customizable tools for performance-based scheduling, dynamic labor forecasting, embedding workflow for employee hiring and employee self-service. WMx seamlessly integrates to numerous point-of-sale, property management, inventory and payroll systems, enabling properties to reduce labor costs and increase profitability.

"Independent restaurants face intense competition, and there's not a lot of room for error," said Michael Buckham-White, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Agilysys. "Yet, armed with the right technology, they can differentiate themselves from the competition and capitalize on revenue opportunities. Our leading edge systems for mobile point-of-sale, inventory and procurement and workforce management offer a comprehensive and integrated solution that enables restaurants to reduce guest wait times, simplify processes, conserve resources and manage staff. Best of all, these solutions help create lasting connections with guests that increase loyalty and encourage repeat business."

The Cask & Barrel is the newest American tapas-style restaurant and bar in the Columbus, Ohio area for beer, wine and quality cuisine enthusiasts. Its beverage and dining experience is like no other, with 30 craft beers on tap as well as a rotation of ciders, seasonals and selections from local and regional breweries and an extensive wine list from the best growing regions in the world.
