AMES Adds Airbus Models to Maintenance Capabilities

Airborne Maintenance & Engineering Services (AMES), a subsidiary of Air Transport Services Group (Nasdaq:ATSG), has been granted approval by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to perform heavy and line maintenance services on Airbus A318, A319, A320, and A321 aircraft.

"Adding Airbus to our Operational Specifications is a natural progression to our long history in maintaining commercial aircraft," said AMES President Brady Templeton. "We are pleased to extend our core competency to the Airbus A320 family."

Over 5,900 aircraft from the A320 family are currently in operation throughout the world, according to Airbus.

The capability for Airbus complements the broad range of services in heavy maintenance, line maintenance, engineering, component repair and overhaul, manufacturing, and material sales that AMES already provides to Boeing 737, 757, 767, and MD-80 customers.

"In June, AMES added a new 100,000-square-foot hangar to our existing 250,000-square-foot operation," noted Templeton. "We look forward to serving both Boeing and Airbus customers with our expanded facilities."
