Veterinarian Mishap Inspires the Creation of a Digital Referral Solution

By: PRLog
Goldenslate, Inc. launched a digital referral solution that uses consumers' own social and mobile networks to find reliable service professionals and share referrals with friends, family and the local community.
PRLog - Jun. 5, 2014 - SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Silicon Valley technology company and Plug & Play Tech Center startup, Goldenslate, has created an innovative digital referral solution designed to help consumers transform the way they find service professionals and share that information with their friends—from a private, conversational and often chance exchange to a social, searchable interaction. Their solution:  goldenslate.com and the free Goldenslate app on iTunes.

Goldenslate was born out of co-founder, Ren Menon's frustration with current online referral options.  Menon became disenchanted after taking his sick dog, Grace, to a veterinarian who he had looked up online. The vet made an incorrect diagnosis and treated Grace with an unnecessary invasive procedure.  After seeing his beloved dog continuing to suffer, Menon asked a friend to recommend a vet to help his dog, who later properly diagnosed Grace's illness and brought her back to health.

Menon's story is not unique. Every day, people choose service professionals for their families without really knowing the quality of the provider. There is a better way.  Study data shows that people are 4 times more likely to be satisfied if their selection is based on referrals from trusted sources like friends and family.

Imagine a solution where you can ask your friends and colleagues (or a wider network of Goldenslaters) for referral recommendations with one click; or being able to search and see who your friends have recommended in the past.  Think of how much easier your next search for a real estate agent, accountant, plumber, babysitter, or tutor will be.  Goldenslate's referral solution uses social networks and mobile contacts to provide the consumer, with a streamlined experience.

Service professionals will also benefit from Goldenslate by managing their most effective marketing tool—referrals from satisfied customers. They can achieve brand credibility and promotion through their public profiles, featuring "Trust" endorsements and stories from satisfied customers. "Trust" endorsements are searchable and can easily be shared across social networks. The "Refer" button and the Goldenslate referral workflow, available with every Goldenslate business account, allow service professionals to track, manage and grow their referrals.  A broadcast feature helps professionals to pre-schedule social media postings including requests for referrals.  According to co-founder Matthew Martin, "Personal referral exchanges present a substantial, untapped opportunity.  Goldenslate strives to be the world's trusted social referral exchange for consumers and businesses.  We want to be the referral destination on the web and on mobile devices."

Philip Peshin, Goldenslate's technology leader, asserts: "With the advancement of social media, technology and mobile communication, we are able to give traditional referral sharing a facelift."

Goldenslate.com launched in the San Jose market, with plans to expand to San Francisco and other cities in the near future.
