Vision Airlines Selects AMES for B767 and B737 Maintenance, Emphasizing Cost Control and On-Time Performance

Airborne Maintenance & Engineering Services (AMES), a subsidiary of Air Transport Services Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:ATSG), announced additional contracts with Vision Airlines for support of Vision's Boeing 767 and Boeing 737 aircraft. The announcement comes in conjunction with the Aviation Week MRO Americas Exhibition in Miami, Fla.

“We selected AMES to accomplish multiple maintenance checks because of AMES’ strong emphasis on meeting schedules, controlling costs, and their commitment to quality workmanship,” remarked Brad Carucci, Vice President of Maintenance for Vision.

“As a smaller carrier, minimizing aircraft out-of-service time is very important to us,” commented Dustin Hannay, Heavy Maintenance Manager for Vision. “It’s also critical that we control our costs. We have been very pleased with AMES’ on-schedule, on-budget performance.”

The announced contracts build upon work AMES is already performing for Vision, which includes line maintenance support and component repair and overhaul. “We’re a good fit for smaller airlines because of our legacy in providing comprehensive airline maintenance,” remarked AMES President Brady Templeton. “Our three decades of experience as an airline's in-house maintenance firm allows us to understand Vision’s operational needs and share their priorities. We are the one-stop shop they need.”

Templeton added, “AMES and Vision work well together, and our strong customer alignment allows us to provide them cost-effective, value-added services.”

AMES is seeing increased demand for its maintenance, repair, and overhaul services across a broad customer base, and is growing its work force in response to improving market conditions.
