JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Feb. 25, 2026 - PRLog -- Bishop Philip Mahali, leader of the Harvest Pentecostal Church International, and mystical theologian Anthony Nayagan have announced a strategic partnership to address a critical vacuum in East African leadership: the "Seminary Gap". Through the Grace of Knowledge Conference 2026, the duo is launching a mission to restore the formative, mystical traditions of the Church Fathers to a region currently devoid of formal theological training facilities.
In nations such as Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zambia, and Somaliland, local church leaders serve as the primary social and spiritual pillars for their communities. However, many of these leaders lack access to seminaries or formative training. The partnership between Bishop Mahali and Mr. Nayagan seeks to transform this reality by establishing an annual intensive that serves as a "mobile seminary," with the ultimate goal of founding a permanent theological institution.
"My vision is to strengthen, train, and prepare church leaders for the future," says Bishop Mahali. "We don't have seminaries in East Africa; we don't have formative training. Many areas are down for God's knowledge".
A Return to the Roots The 2026 conference represents a "grand slam" shift in theological education for the region. While past events focused on foundational leadership, the new curriculum introduces Mystical Theology, led by Anthony Nayagan. This initiative moves beyond administrative training to revive the apostolic hunger of the Early Church, teaching leaders to seek the direct, transformative experience of the Divine that characterized Christianity's first centuries.
Urgent Infrastructure and Safety Needs The mission faces significant logistical hurdles. In previous years, the lack of resources forced visiting pastors to stay in conditions without clean water, leading to severe illness and infections. The partnership is currently raising $31,000 to provide:
- Dignified Hosting: Safe hotel lodging, professional catering, and clean water for over 100 regional leaders and international volunteers.
- Professional Venue: A secure environment equipped with audio/visual technology for intensive study.
- Cleaning & Maintenance: The hiring of professional cleaning services to ensure a standard of excellence and health safety for all participants.
A Global Invitation Bishop Mahali is calling upon the global community—teachers, evangelists, and philanthropists—to join this movement. "I am inviting people from outside because it will make a great impact," Mahali states. "This money will go to spend for accommodation, transportation, food, notebooks, and Bibles".
The 2026 conference serves as the prelude to a permanent seminary in Mbeya, designed to safeguard the intellectual and spiritual future of East African Christianity.
