Guggenheim Energy & Income Fund Announces Liquidation and Dissolution

NEW YORK, July 28, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Guggenheim Energy & Income Fund (“XGEIX” or the “Fund”) has entered into a Plan of Liquidation and Dissolution in accordance with its policy to complete an event intended to provide liquidity for shareholders on or before July 28, 2023.

The Fund is finalizing its liquidation and dissolution and the winding up of its operations (e.g., remaining settlement of trading activity and finalizing the books of the Fund). The Fund expects to make one or more liquidating distributions to shareholders of record as of July 28, 2023, in the near future, representing substantially all of its net assets. The liquidating distributions to shareholders will be treated as payments in redemption of their shares. The liquidation of the Fund will generally result in a taxable event for shareholders and would be expected to give rise to capital gain or loss to shareholders, depending on the basis of their shares and their individual situations. Shareholders should contact their tax advisers to discuss the income tax consequences of the liquidation.
