EOS Investors Launches Hotel Credit Strategy Led by Former Wells Fargo Executive, Christopher Jordan

EOS Investors (“EOS”), the real estate investment firm founded in 2017 by Jonathan Wang, has held a first close of approximately $150 million of commitments on its inaugural hotel credit strategy. The strategy will focus on senior whole loans, mezzanine financing and structured debt opportunities in the hospitality sector.

EOS Credit Partners is led by Christopher Jordan, a real estate banking veteran who joined the firm after more than 30 years at Wells Fargo where he served in a number of senior and executive management roles, most recently as EVP and Group Head of Hospitality Finance and Specialty Real Estate Finance. While at Wells Fargo, Jordan launched the firm’s sector focused hospitality finance unit in 2009 and scaled the business into one of the largest lodging and leisure balance sheet lending platforms in the U.S. He subsequently led the expansion of the platform into a multi-sector, specialty real estate lending business.

“EOS Credit Partners aspires to be a highly knowledgeable, relationship-oriented lender rather than a transactional capital source, capitalizing on established relationships across the lodging industry landscape and offering a partnership-driven approach,” said Jordan. “And, because EOS is a significant hotel owner and operator, we have access to expertise, capabilities, and insights which EOS believes provides differentiated insight into the lodging sector,” he added.

EOS believes the current environment has created an opportunity for EOS to apply its deep lodging-investment and operating expertise to hotel credit, as reduced lending activity by traditional lenders and upcoming hotel loan maturities drive demand for alternative financing solutions. “We saw a great opportunity in the hotel-lending market for the last couple of years, and we thought that we were well positioned to pursue it. But it was the partnership with Christopher Jordan that really allowed us to do it,” said Wang.

The firm has been active in the lodging sector since its founding, and its vertical integration creates strong alignment and enables direct involvement in asset-level execution. EOS owns a diversified hotel equity portfolio and operates nearly 60 hotels through EOS Hospitality, which collectively generates approximately $800 million in gross annual property-level revenue. The hotel credit strategy is highly synergistic with EOS’s hospitality investment strategy and operating capabilities.

In addition to its hospitality business, EOS launched a residential investment platform in 2023, led by Nicole Sermier. The residential strategy invests across multiple housing sub-sectors and capital stack positions and has raised about $251 million in investor commitments, alongside $200 million of co-investment capital.
