Lookout Named a Major Player in NESaaS and ZTNA in New IDC MarketScape Reports

Lookout Recognized in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Network Edge Security as a Service (NESaaS) 2023 Vendor Assessment and IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Zero Trust Network Access 2023 Vendor Assessment

Lookout, Inc., the endpoint-to-cloud security company, today announced it has been named a Major Player in two new IDC MarketScape reports: the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Network Edge Security as a Service (NESaaS) 2023 Vendor Assessment1 and the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) 2023 Vendor Assessment2.

The IDC MarketScape recognized Lookout as a Major Player in NESaaS for the Company’s security service edge (SSE) product, the Lookout Cloud Security Platform, which converges SSE and endpoint security to protect users and data wherever they reside. The platform continuously monitors the risk posture of users and devices to provide dynamic and granular zero-trust access based on the sensitivity level of apps and data, enabling organizations to protect their workers, devices, applications and data from unauthorized access and modern-day internet-based threats. Services in the platform include Lookout Mobile Endpoint Security (mobile threat defense), Lookout Secure Private Access (ZTNA), Lookout Secure Internet Access (secure web gateway) and Lookout Secure Cloud Access (cloud access security broker).

What the IDC MarketScape for NESaaS says about Lookout:

  • “Lookout offers a strong ease-of-use and deployment solution that will likely appeal to customers that require additional handholding for a complex NESaaS deployment.”
  • “Lookout offers a full-featured NESaaS that contains all of the core NESaaS components as well as optional sandboxing, RBI, and SD-WAN capabilities.”

What the IDC MarketScape for ZTNA says about Lookout:

  • “The Company's vast portfolio, flexible ZTNA and complete data security story across CASB, endpoint, and email make it ideal for adopting organizations that have found their on-premises security provider's ZTNA and NESaaS capabilities lacking.”
  • “Lookout's ZTNA product offering supports all ZTNA models outlined in the NIST SP 800-207 documentation, with flexible deployment methods available, including agent and agentless, as well as inline, cloud routed, and direct routed.”

“The shift to remote work has brought about a sophisticated and fast-changing threat landscape, putting traditional on-premises security solutions under increasing pressure as threat gaps widen,” said Chris Rodriguez, IDC Research Director, Trusted Network Access and Protection. “With Lookout’s comprehensive portfolio of endpoint-to-cloud security solutions, companies can effectively streamline access and data security policies across all traffic using a single source, single proxy, and single vantage point to swiftly address and mitigate threats. The Lookout Cloud Security Platform has been instrumental in transforming how organizations safeguard their networks and maintain data integrity.”

“At Lookout, we are on a mission to provide reliable, efficient, and secure access to your data from any endpoint in any location,” said Sundaram Lakshmanan, Chief Technology Officer, Lookout. “To be recognized as a 'Major Player' in the IDC MarketScapes for NESaaS and ZTNA is an important milestone for Lookout because it further validates our ongoing commitment to cybersecurity innovation and to our customers’ continued success.”
