Great Pacific Media marks its 11th consecutive year on the prestigious list that ranks the world’s best production companies in unscripted and non-fiction content
Thunderbird Entertainment Group Inc. (TSXV:TBRD, OTC:THBRF) (“Thunderbird” or the “Company”), is honoured to announce that its unscripted arm, Great Pacific Media (“GPM”), has been named to Realscreen’s Global 200 list (formerly, the Global 100). This is the 11th-consecutive year that GPM has been included in Realscreen’s annual determination of the best production companies working in the non-fiction TV and film industries. It is compiled with the input of broadcast and streaming executives, agents, distributors, production peers and other industry stakeholders.
“We have some of the best and most talented teams in the business. And this consistent recognition from Realscreen and the larger industry is a testament to that,” said David Way, GPM President. “Last year was amazing for GPM. We completed and launched six new projects and had 126 hours of programming in production. Our shows are currently seen in more than 170 countries. In 2023, we continue to focus on creative excellence across a variety of unscripted genres that feature distinct and diverse stories and voices in the pursuit of making great content that travels the world.”
In 2022, GPM’s new unscripted series included Deadman’s Curse (History Canada/Hulu) that finished its first season run as one of the top 10 Canadian original specialty series, lifestyle series Styled (HGTV Canada//Hulu), Dr. Savannah: Wild Rose Vet (produced by Wapanatahk Media in partnership with GPM for APTN and Cottage Life), Gut Job (HGTV Canada//Hulu), one-hour doc The Teenager and the Lost Maya City (Nature of Things, CBC) and two-part doc After the Storm (Discovery Canada). Returning seasons of hit Discovery Canada docuseries Highway Thru Hell and Heavy Rescue: 401 also aired.
Realscreen (realscreen.com) is the only international publication devoted exclusively to the non-fiction TV and film industries. It aims to bring diverse communities together for dialogue, debate and discussion about the global business of unscripted entertainment. Their annual list of the now top 200 companies working in unscripted and non-fiction content is one of the most anticipated reports of the year.
