"Why Do We Even Have Political Parties?" Powerful California Congressional Candidate Calls for Potential Ban on Political Parties After Endless Fighting

Powerful litigator and political candidate Eric J. Troutman suggests political parties are eroding constitutional principles and damaging the nation.

IRVINE, CA / ACCESS Newswire / January 5, 2026 / California Congressional candidate Eric J. Troutman - a famous complex litigator with powerhouse firm Troutman Amin, LLP known as the "Czar" for his legal dominance-has called for a potential ban of political parties following the recent government shutdown and endless bickering between lawmakers.

In a blog post dated December 14, 2025 on AmericaDeservesToWin.com - Troutman's popular political blog that boasts over 100k followers - Troutman suggests political parties have morphed from a mere nuisance in previous decades to an existential threat to national security and constitutional principles.

The post entitled simply "Should We Ban Political Parties?" likens the Democrats and Republicans to deadly street gangs- the Bloods and Crips- who injure innocent people in turf wars. "But unlike the [B]loods and [Crips] who want to run the streets these guys want to run our government!!! That's MUCH worse. And they conspire to control all three branches of our government - which are supposed to check each other and work against each other- to make the government much more powerful in our lives than it should be." Troutman wrote.

Troutman explains Americans are forced to switch from party to party because the extreme direction each party takes while in control makes keeping that party in power intolerable. So the nation is stuck swinging from one side to another like a ping pong ball. "And with each swing of power from one side to the other- which is inevitable since Americans do not want EITHER of these parties in control of the government- the swings become more intense as each side pushes the envelope with each swing." Troutman suggests.

"It doesn't take a genius to see where this is headed. And its nowhere good." He concludes.

The proposed solution is an outright ban on the parties entirely. In Troutman's view:

"The solution is simple- make the system work the way the constitution says it should work. Get rid of the political parties.

They erode our checks and balances and the belief we should all have in the wisdom of the people. It turns politicians into puppets who are only serving the party leadership- who reward those that show loyalty to the party and not to the people-and keeps qualified WINNERS (guys like me and you) out of the race because qualified people don't want to live under the thumb of the parties."

Troutman seems confident the party system is on its way out the door:

"Americans are smart and they are waking up to the idea that parties no longer serve the people. Indeed Republicans and Democrats are dead bands- nobody is proudly a member of these things any more, nor should they be. Indeed if you're voting for an R or a D you're just throwing your vote away."
