On January 26, 2006, Peabody Energy Corporation (“Peabody”) issued a press release setting forth
Peabody’s fourth quarter and full year 2005 financial results and providing guidance on Peabody’s
first quarter and full year 2006 forecasted results. A copy of Peabody’s press release is attached
hereto as exhibit 99.1.
